Skinny Dip illustrator Zakee Shariff HAS been having a busy few weeks.....

Zakee had launched her first collaboration with wonderful Fairtrade fashion pioneer, People Tree.  The new collection consists of easy-to-wear jersey pieces hand printed with four exclusive Zakee designs.  And of course in true People Tree fashion, all garments are made from 100% organic, Fairtrade certified cotton, produced in Gujarat, India.  Prices for the collection range from £30 to £45 which is available to buy NOW from People Tree, ASOS and selected John Lewis stores.

As if this wasn’t enough...

Zakee has designed a print for LOVE JAPAN.  Zakee’s image will appear amongst designs from 9 other creatives on men’s/ladies T-shirts and bags sold by LOVE Retouch in their move to raise funds for the all too worthy Japanese tsunami appeal.

They’re hosting a pop-up exhibition on 20th December 2011 at the ICN Gallery, 96/97 Leonard Street E – Come, have a look.  All proceeds go to the Japanese disaster appeal. Obviously.

JOCELYN BAIN HOGG: 'THE FAMILY'

Ten years ago Jocelyn Bain Hogg’s 'The Firm' documented a thriving London underworld.  Dominated by a few notorious players who had made their names during the 1960s and 70s, among them were Freddie Foreman, Tony Lambrianou, Roy ‘Pretty Boy’ Shaw’, Bruce Reynolds and Reggie Kray. The biggest player of the lot was ‘Big’ Joey Pyle whose influence extended across London for thirty years, from unlicensed boxing matches to the music industry.

Ten years on, Bain Hogg’s 'The Family' documents the legacy of Joey Pyle, inherited by his son Joe and supported by the three men – Warren, Alan, and Mitch – who were appointed by Joey before his death.  These Four men make up 'The Family', an intimate circle entrusted to continue Joey’s business after his death in 2007.

'The Family' opened this weekend at Foto8 and is exhibited until 14th January 2012.

STEPHEN MORGAN EXHIBITS: THE WAPPING PROJECT

Images from Stephen Morgan's series "A Moment's Chance (and other short stories)" are being exhibited
in a joint show at The Wapping Project, Bankside.

Taking on small photographic trips around areas connected to his childhood memories, Stephen J. Morgan’s
understated but eloquent images display an evident closeness to his subject matter. They document passing details
and footnotes, the accumulation of which reveals a candid capture of the spirit of these familiar places, and a stark
portrayal of urban, working-class life in England . Stephen J. Morgan (b.1970, UK) has recently showed his work
at Photon, Ljubjana, Slovenia; the Birmingham Central Library and Jerwood space.

Forthcoming publications include Collecting Contemporary Photography, by Jocelyn Phillips, published
by Thames & Hudson.

"Lawrence Watson Photographs Noel Gallagher"

Lawrence's show has been featured in various publications and online, below is a snippet from
The Telegraph's interview with Noel in which he talks about working with Lawrence...
The show is on till 13th Nov, so get down there and check out the iconic portraits, polaroids,
contact sheets, and the short film...  Londonewcastle Project Space, 28 Redchurch St, London, E2

Check out the teaser trailer film..

"Why did you allow Lawrence to photograph you throughout the process?"
"I'm not sure I ever did. Lawrence has always been around when I've been in the studio. It wouldn't
be the same without him to be honest, so it didn’t’ feel like there was anything out of the ordinary
going on. He did decide to grow a beard early doors, though, so I could tell how long I was
taking to make the record by looking at his ginger beard. Have you seen it? It really should be
in the Tate."
