Frankly, Mr Shankly

Lawrence Watson's new show opens in LA this week!
Email amy@skinnydip.co.uk for more info

From the most revered names in Britpop to hip-hop, rock to reggae, classicists to non-conformists, music photographer Lawrence Watson has captured them all. Since beginning his career in the early 1980s Lawrence, one of the most unassuming yet talented British photographers, has documented the energy and mood of the biggest names on the international music scene over the past three decades.

Lawrence has worked with some of the most famous faces in the business including legendary artists such as David Bowie, James Brown, Ray Charles and the Reverend Al Green. His sharp images of contemporary acts like Run DMC, Blur, Morrissey and Grace Jones have achieved iconic status while his discretion and rapport have gained him access to capture behind-the-scenes images, documentary shots and official tour photography for Paul Weller, Oasis and Noel Gallagher’s first solo venture.

All of these and more can be viewed in “Frankly, Mr Shankly”, a collection of Lawrence’s diverse and visually arresting photography that will appeal to music lovers of all genres.
